THE AMBITION

Build a success story
others can follow.

The Foundry brings faith, brotherhood, and entrepreneurial action into a sustained commitment to build. This is our shared home for the purpose, standards, and framework that guide the work.

$100m

Valuation or exit. A three-year ambition.

Our aim is to develop one to three companies capable of reaching this scale. Each man pursues his own venture, supported by the circle. Customer demand and practical evidence guide the work.

THE FIRST THREE WEEKS

Think boldly.
Choose deliberately. Build.

A short, focused launch. One week for ideas. Two weeks to challenge them and commit to one direction per founder.

Start with possibility.

Each man brings one to three ideas rooted in problems he understands, opportunities he sees, and capabilities he can put to work.

  • Describe the customer and the problem.
  • Explain what you would offer and why it matters.
  • Identify the experience or access you bring.
04

Then the building begins.

From week four, bring the work back to the circle: what you built, what customers said, what you learned, and the next commitment.

HOW WE WORK

Your venture.
A circle behind you.

The founding circle consists of personally invited men committed to taking initiative and executing. Each member brings an idea, an existing venture, or a problem he understands deeply.

Meet in person at least twice a month in the Washington, DC area. Work consistently between meetings, with additional Zoom sessions when useful.

01

Own your company.

Each founder builds an independent venture. Membership, advice, and introductions create no automatic equity or partnership. A member may step away from his own venture to join another member's company, with their roles and ownership agreed separately.

02

Build in the open.

Share progress, decisions, and setbacks within the circle. Challenge assumptions, offer useful help, and keep sensitive information within the circle, and treat another man's work with care and respect.

03

Contribute to the room.

Bring your experience, relationships, and resourcefulness. Share what you learn about customers, AI, hiring, fundraising, and building a business.

WHY NOW

More within reach.
Less to get started.

AI gives founders new ways to prototype, automate, and test ideas with smaller initial teams and budgets.

Inside the Foundry, we share the workflows that prove useful. Your industry knowledge, customer relationships, and judgment give those tools direction.

OUR WORKING FRAMEWORK

Clear thinking.
Visible progress.

A starting framework for the founding circle. We refine it together as customer evidence and experience sharpen the work.

01 / THE IDEA BRIEF

Make the idea concrete.

Bring up to three ideas in week one. For each, prepare a concise brief that the circle can challenge.

  • Customer: Who has the problem, and who pays?
  • Problem: What pain is urgent enough to act on?
  • Offer: What would you sell, and why would it win?
  • Advantage: What experience, access, or insight do you bring?
  • Scale: What must be true to reach our ambition?
  • First test: What can you validate quickly and cheaply?
02 / THE PROGRESS UPDATE

Bring evidence to the room.

Use the same short update at each working session so the circle can see what is moving and where help matters.

  • Commitment: What did you agree to do last time?
  • Work: What did you build, test, or complete?
  • Evidence: What did customers or results reveal?
  • Decision: What will you continue, change, or stop?
  • Next step: What will you do before we meet again?
  • Support: What specific help do you need?

THE MEETING RHYTHM

Come prepared. Leave with a commitment.

Meet in person at least twice monthly, with Zoom sessions as needed. Review progress, work through the most pressing decisions, share useful lessons, and agree on each founder's next commitment. The founder retains responsibility for his venture's decisions.
